Basic Ayurvedic Principals with Melissa Camacho
Fri. March 2 and Sat. March 3, 2012
Melissa will return to Second Heart in March. Melissa's deep understanding and knowledge of Ayurveda make her workshop potent and clear. Come join us for an educational journey into one of Yoga’s sister sciences: Ayurveda. Ayurveda is the medical science of India and has been practiced for more than 5, 000 years. It consists of five elements and describes how they relate to the body via the elemental pairings of the doshas.
This workshop will cover the concept of Agni, spices in Ayurvedic cooking, basic diagnosis methods including the nails and face, gunas and the body, and much more. We will be working from where we left off last month. However, if you couldn’t make it last month, don’t hesitate to join in! I’ll be reviewing what is pertinent to know for this workshop on the free Friday, March 2nd. By the end of this workshop you will be more familiar with the five elements and how they affect one’s body and mind. It will give you a new perspective on your yoga practice, as well as your overall state of health!
Friday night March 2, 6-8pm free
Sat. March 3, 1-6pm. $60
Attend one or both.

Kumbha Mela 2013
Kumbha Mela 2013
A spiritual pilgrimage led by
Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, Spiritual Head
Every 12 years for millennia, the time returns when the planets, constellations, and other celestial bodies are perfectly aligned, creating a powerful vortex of spiritual energy at the confluence of three holy rivers in Allahabad, India. This energy is further intensified by the collective consciousness of saints and sages, and pilgrims, who gather here with a single shared intention: inner healing and lasting positive change.
While the interplay of the forces of light and darkness brings about change – both within and outside us – ourintentions, when put into practice at the right time and in the right manner, are a powerful influence or antidote.
